Wellness tool only. ReWrite supports handwriting rehabilitation but is not a medical device. Always follow guidance from your occupational therapist or care team.
Tip: Short daily sessions (10–15 minutes) are more effective than long infrequent ones.

About ReWrite
Important: ReWrite is a wellness support tool, not a medical device. It is designed to supplement — not replace — occupational therapy. Always follow the guidance of your therapist or care team.
What is ReWrite?
ReWrite helps you rebuild handwriting skills through guided tracing exercises. Designed for people recovering from stroke, brain injury, or other conditions that affect hand control and writing ability. It provides practice exercises with progress tracking and colour-coded score bands. No ads, no subscriptions — no additional costs after purchase.
How it works
Choose an exercise type: individual letters, numbers, words, or sentences
A faint guide character appears on the writing area
Trace over the guide with your finger (touchscreen) or mouse
The app scores your accuracy based on how closely you traced the guide
Your progress is saved automatically on this device
Understanding benchmarks
Scores are compared against typical performance bands. These are guides only — visual, motor, cognitive and fatigue factors all affect scores. What matters most is your personal improvement over time.
Strong — close match to the guide
Developing — improving, keep practising
Early stage — every attempt builds new pathways
Tips for best results
Practice 10–15 minutes daily — short frequent sessions beat long infrequent ones
Start with individual letters before progressing to words and sentences
Focus on accuracy, not speed — you are retraining motor pathways
Use the Export button on the Progress tab to share results with your therapist
Sit comfortably with your device on a stable surface at a good angle
Writing practice should never hurt — aching or cramping means it's time for a break. Little and often beats long and sore
Practising on your own? If progress stalls or your writing suddenly gets worse, ask your GP about seeing an occupational therapist
Writing with your other hand for the first time? That's a real skill in itself — a different slant or style is absolutely fine here
